Justice for Harambe | Hypocrisy!?!

Recently a gorilla(Harambe) was shot because the zoo believed that a child who had fallen into the habitat was in danger. Social media has blown up with people calling for investigations into the parents over outrage that the gorilla was put down to save a child.

There is even a petition on Change.org calling for the parents to have their home situation investigated and accusations of neglect.

Excerpt from Change.org

We believe that this negligence may be reflective of the child’s home situation. We the undersigned actively encourage an investigation of the child’s home environment in the interests of protecting the child and his siblings from further incidents of parental negligence that may result in serious bodily harm or even death. Please sign this petition to encourage the Cincinnati Zoo, Hamilton County Child Protection Services, and Cincinnati Police Department hold the parents responsible.

This is a huge over step by the environmental community. Accidents happen to everyone. Make no mistake, this outrage is because an animal was killed because of the possibility of harm to a human child. How about instead of talking about the parents, why don’t people attack the zoo for having an endangered species. Is it not inhumane to hold an animal in captivity. Come on people. A Human Life is More Important Than an Animal Life. This is the way it should be.
